Affordable Web Designer FAQs
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about my services.
How long have you been making websites professionally?
I started my company over five years ago and before that I worked as a freelancer so I am now working towards my first decade of industry experience.
I've seen the web evolve over the that time, giving me an understanding of what to look out for in the long term. And in my early years I made enough mistakes to be able to learn how to avoid repeating them. There are a lot of things that can go wrong when developing a site and so experience counts.
How can I be sure that I will like the design you set up for me?
The key point about the style of your site is that I won't build anything until you are really happy with how it looks. I always show clients a mock-up of their home page - which can also be changed - then only once a client approved that design would I move to the next step of setting it up and make it editable. So the process ensures that I am always moving in the right direction without having to go back again, which also saves time and makes it good value for money.
Will I get good search results?
I always carry out some work on search as part of any setup. It is worth noting that results in this area is not something any respectable company can ever guarantee, it would be irresponsible to do so because ultimately it is the search engines that make decisions about a site and not the designer.
Having said that, I am very experienced in this area and lots of my clients have experienced good results without having to pay extra. In some cases, they have been so encouraged that they hired me to carry out more work in that area. But my honest advice to people is never to spend lots of money upfront on it but rather to "see how it goes", if the site does well without any extra investment then that may encourage us to take it a little further.
What makes you such an affordable web designer?
A large part of it is my belief that life is not only about money! I prefer to have really great relationships with my clients rather than trying to squeeze every penny out of them, and being on really friendly terms with them allows me to enjoy my job ten times more than I would otherwise.
Another big factor is that I'm really into efficiency - I have set up a process that saves time and makes use of the best resources to give you what you need fast. For example, one of my service rules is that I do all my work over the phone so that I don't have to bill clients for travelling and meeting them in person. In my experience it makes no difference to the quality of results, as all the examples and recommendations you can see on this site prove.
