Measurability
I used to provide simple stats for clients showing them how many hits they were getting on each page - and then along came Google Analytics !
It's an easy-to-access interface that enables you find out all kinds of information about your traffic to help you improve your online marketing. After all, information about the 'hits' alone only tells you if people are looking at your website but they don't give you many clues about what you can do to improve those hits.
'Analytics' - on the other hand - tells you things like how many visitors came back, how long they stayed on your website, which pages they visited the most and even what phrases they typed into a search engine into order to arrive there.
This kind of information can be a useful pointer for you. For example, if you see that hundreds of people looked at one page and then left your website after a few seconds then you might need to improve that page. If you see that a more obscure page was accessed by many more people who stayed on your website for a longer time then you might consider prioritising that page as one of the selling-points of your site.
And the best thing about this useful piece of 'webware' is that it is free! Google charge nothing for the service and I can integrate it for you at no extra charge as part of the service I provide.
